Hole 8
Tee Approach
Playing Tips
Hole Overview
The 8th hole at Spring Park is an exceptionally fun and visually striking par 4 that perfectly captures the character and charm of Sandbelt golf. From the tee, players are presented with a wide and inviting fairway, but the hole subtly bends left around 150 metres from the tee, catching out drives struck too straight and bringing rough and trees into play.
The real highlight of the hole comes on approach, where golfers are greeted by some of the most impressive bunkering on the course. Two large bunkers stand prominently at the entrance to the green, while additional bunkers protect both the left and right-hand sides.
A beautifully framed hole that rewards strategy, creativity and confident execution.
Playing Tips
Positioning from the tee is crucial on the 8th. While the fairway appears generous, tee shots hit too aggressively or too straight can quickly run through the dogleg and into trouble. A controlled shot favouring the right-centre of the fairway will provide the best angle into the green.
When approaching the green, distance and accuracy become equally important. The impressive bunkering surrounding the putting surface leaves little room for error, so aiming for the centre of the green is often the smartest play, particularly when the pin is tucked near the edges.
Players who stay patient and prioritise placement over power will give themselves an excellent opportunity to attack the green and create a birdie chance on one of the course’s most memorable holes.
