Hole Overview
A favourite among Spring Park golfers, the 4th hole is an exciting risk-and-reward par 4 that challenges players to decide how aggressive they want to be from the tee.

“Bunyips Pool” guards most of the right-hand side of the fairway, tempting longer hitters to take on the carry in search of a short chip or even an eagle putt. The reward can be significant, but any shot falling short or leaking right will quickly bring bogey, or worse, into play.

The safer route is down the more forgiving left-hand side, although players should still be mindful of the large greenside bunker waiting to catch tee shots that run too far.

The green features a pronounced back-to-front slope,  leaving the ball below the hole the ideal position for a manageable birdie chance.

Playing Tips
Aggressive players willing to challenge the water off the tee will be rewarded with the best angle into the green and a short pitch or putt remaining. Commitment is key, indecision often leads to trouble around the water hazard.

The higher percentage play is to take less club from the tee and favour the left-hand side of the fairway, this leaves a full approach into the green and mitigates the risk off the tee.

Whichever strategy you choose, approach shots should favour the front to middle section of the green. With significant undulation and strong back-to-front slope, staying below the hole is essential to avoid a fast and difficult downhill putt.
